We live in a time when the body has become the centre of attention - also when it comes to psychotherapy. More and more people realise that words alone are not enough to process trauma, stress and life crises. The body remembers, carries and expresses what we can't always put into words.
The many faces of body therapy
That's why I wrote the mini book From psychotherapy to body therapy. Here I take you on a journey from Wilhelm Reich's pioneering thoughts on muscle armour in the early 1900s to today's many different forms of body therapy. Along the way we meet pioneers like Alexander Lowen, Peter Levine and Bessel van der Kolk - but also Danish traditions like Body SDS, Manuvision, Totum and the approach I work with in SOMA.
The holistic work
The book provides both a historical overview and an understanding of what body therapy can look like in practice. You'll gain insight into how the body and mind are inextricably linked and why it makes sense to work with both at the same time.
Find new inspiration
The aim is to inspire and inform - both those who are considering body therapy as a client and those who are curious as a student.
